Corsini Palace & Gallery

This building, constructed in the second half of the 17th century to the plans of Pierfrancesco Silvani, is the greatest example of Baroque civil architecture in Florence. The way the façade opens onto the river along the Lungarno has a scenographic effect.

The interior contains splendid stucco work which adorns the staircase, the hall and the chamber. The building houses a picture gallery which is of great importance because of the works of Florentine Renaissance and Baroque artists.
After Via dei Fossi, in Borgo Ognissanti you will find the church of the same name, a 13th century building reconstructed at the beginning of the 17th century. The noteworthy, elaborate façade comes from this period, the design of Matteo Nigetti.
In the interior, in the right-hand section of the transept, in the first chapel on the right, there is a round marble slab in the floor which indicates the tomb of the great Renaissance painter, Alessandro di Mariano Filippi, known as Botticelli.
