As you leave the church, you come into a 19th century structure in glass and iron, the small Cloister of the Votive Tablets, named after the numerous votive offerings left here, and testifying to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin.
The ambience dates back to the 15th century and contains many precious frescoes, including those from the 16th century by Andrea del Sarto.
Especially precious is the fresco you can see on the right of the entrance to the church, the Birth of the Virgin, initialled by the artist in 1514. On the left of the doorway is a beautiful Nativity of Jesus from around 1460, the work of Alessio Baldovinetti.
