Alberto della Ragione was an ardent collector and in 1970 he donated this exhibition of Italian paintings and sculptures to the City of Florence.

Prominent among the painters are Campigli, Morandi, Rosai, Sironi, De Pisis and Mafai, and, among the sculptors, Arturo Martini, Marino Marini and Giacomo Manzù.
